I know you guys are curious about my resolutions this year, right? Common, at least pretend that you are. I'm going to publicly announce my resolutions this time and also publicly let others know when i have failed in keeping so...i know, i know...negative attitudes shouldn't be reigning in so soon, but what to do? Habits die hard (some wise man wrote a blog about this...guess who?)...Alright, my resolution is that i will practice 5 minutes of meditation every day, ideally at the beginning of my day or in case i really wake up late and royally late for a meeting, i will finish it at some part of the day in my pooja room. The only condition is that the 5 minutes should be uninterrupted, meaning that i'm forbidden to talk or open my eyes...Wow! isn't it a big goal? Kidding, but hoping that this 5 minutes is like a spark that subsumes into something bigger.
BTW, one thought that popped up today in my meditation (early starter, eh?) was about ZEN and how it is not a one thing thing and is rather a continuous, conscious effort..Essentially, every action i do is a choice that i make..i can take the high road, the road treaded by noble men or the easy road, which is treaded by people with "common sense"...it essentially comes down to that...Yoga, zen, meditation are not silver bullets that change me in that one magical moment...instead, they are tools to use in the journey for nobleness...
Finally, let me pray that 2010 makes the world better for everyone...
Omsairam!
